Working with an artist at the National Gallery
Some students from years eight and nine went to the National Gallery today with their City Year mentors. The students received many compliments from the artist Harriet Hill regarding their skill, their focus and their behaviour. They worked hard all day on a collaborative collage which was filmed as each piece was laid down to create an animation. A picture of the final shot can be seen here. It is based on the "conceit" (i.e. they were made up and never really existed) of 17 C Flower paintings.
